Technology Resources

The Digital Divide is the economic, educational, and social inequalities between those who have computers and online access and those who do not. This is an important issue to be aware of, as it can have a lasting impact on our students and their families. Without sufficient access to high speed internet, our students are unable to complete school assignments and seek online resources to advance their educational opportunities. The resources in this collection are designed to:
  • aid teachers in understanding the digital divide's impacts on our students and their families.
  • provide strategies teachers can implement in their lesson planning and classrooms to lessen the affects of the divide.
  • provide resources local to Sumter, SC where faculty can refer families for assistance with internet connection.
