Any potential self-funded PhD students who are interested in joining the Manchester NanoSIMS Group should contact Dr Katie Moore (katie.moore@manchester.ac.uk) to discuss potential projects. Projects using NanoSIMS in the following areas are of particular interest:
Hydrogen and deuterium localisation in metals
Trace element localisation in plants or bacteria
Drug localisation
Isotopic labelling of biological materials to follow elemental uptake pathways
Understanding the oxidation mechanisms of metals using isotopic labels
