About the Festival
This is the very first time the MAMA Festival DE is taking place in Düsseldorf - and in Germany at all! The theme is: "By Moms, For Moms." At its core, the festival is all about supporting mothers - physically, mentally, professionally, and socially.
The entire event is organized in solidarity and on a volunteer basis by moms who bring their professional expertise from a wide range of fields (psychology, science, social work, design, entrepreneurship, movement, and more), in addition to their role as mothers. Our goal is to shine a light on how multifaceted and committed mothers are - far beyond just family responsibilities.
We’re expecting a diverse and inspiring group of mothers, including entrepreneurs, founders, and professionals from various industries and cultural backgrounds. This diversity is already reflected in our community, and we’re excited to bring it to life at the festival.
With this festival, we aim to create a safe and empowering space for moms - a place where they can connect, grow, and take center stage - outside of their family roles. We’ll be addressing important societal issues such as postpartum depression, workplace barriers, the invisible load of caregiving, and financial imbalance after having children - all through open conversations and informative sessions. At the same time, we want to uplift and support mom-owned and mom-focused initiatives and organizations through visibility and partnerships at the festival.
