Malvy was founded in October 2023 by choreographer Iryna Savonik in Moncton, New Brunswick.

What started as a small group has grown into a vibrant community of over 30 young dancers various ages, all united by one goal — to keep Ukrainian folk dance traditions alive and share them through our performances.

Our name "Malvy" comes from the mallow flower, which blooms with grace and resilience in Ukrainian gardens. In our culture, this flower symbolizes beauty, sincerity, and deep connection to our homeland. Just like the mallow that brings color and life wherever it grows, we bring Ukrainian culture to people across Atlantic Canada.
