"Highschool Portraits" These are me, my classmates, and some professors who I've drawn at the beginning of my senior year and will very much miss them. It's a practice I often use to keep up my studies of drawing portraiture up-to-date and not stray too far from it. The material if ballpoint pen on papers.Â
Snakes & Reptiles Collection
In this collection, my entire focus was firmly planted in the concepts found in the Bible, specifically the story of Adam and Eve. The first humans sinned due to a snake's persuasion by eating the forbidden fruit from the tree of good and evil knowledge. How can storytelling through modern-day correlation depict the heinous decisions that most people live to regret? I want to convey that, even if our own desires have clouded our better judgment, we have the ability to adjust our paths and break free from the negative influences that lead the majority of people astray. I aimed to highlight various aspects of the biblical story into our digital world context by experimenting with symbolism, color, and theatrical composition. I use snakes, which have historically been associated with evil to demonstrate how addictive devices of knowledge provide people with limitless pleasure. In piece #11, for example, I show how a person's undisturbed state of being in the dark and surrounded by snakes deeply demonstrates that their minds are imprisoned by their own desires. In piece #15, I argue that there is good, but we must seek it by following the light.
"Perplexity" (Won Gold Key in the Scholastics Competition of 2022)

Sharks Collection
Three works part of the shark collection, all which used ballpoint pen on white paper. Challenging myself with fears of sharks and trying new things was an experience worth acknowledging. My ideas were to portray the animals in a beautiful yet grotesque way that displays a two-side meaning to it.

My ideas have been applied on each page in the form of pencil drawings, colorful observations, and random notes that blend together in a creative symphony. From rough drafts of concepts to polished versions, my process work develops naturally, illustrating how my ideas have changed over time. Scrawls and doodles come together into well-crafted designs after careful trial and error.
