The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), NIT Puducherry, conducted a 07-Days SERB-sponsored One-week High-End Karyashala Workshop titled “Deep Learning for Biomedical Signal Processing” from 13- to 19 May 2024. The programme was convened by Dr. Malaya Kumar Nath (Assistant Professor) and coordinated by Dr. Malaya Kumar Nath (Assistant Professor). The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Kusa Kumar Shaha (Dean, JIPMER, Karaikal) in the presence of Dr. J. S, Sahambi (Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Ropar, Punjab) and Dean R & C (Dr G. S. Mahapatra). Around 25 participants from places such as Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Odisha, Manipur, and Kerala registered and participated in the event. Reputed Resource persons such as Dr. Jyotindra S. Sahambi (Professor, IIT Ropar), Dr. S. Vanitha (Professor, Department of Respiratory Medicine VMMC, Karaikal), Dr. Rangaraj M. Rangayyan (Professor, Emeritus of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Calgary), Dr. Niruban (Associate Professor & Officer in charge, Ophthalmology, JIPMER, Karaikal), Dr. Ram Bilas Pachori (Professor, IIT Indore), Dr. Samarendra Dandapat (Professor, IIT Guwahati), Dr. Poonguzhali Elangovan (Postdoctoral Fellow, Department of Radiology, School of Medicine, the University of Colorado Denver Anschutz Medical Campus, USA), Dr. Anurag Singh (Assistant Professor IIIT – Naya Raipur), Dr. Seokbum Ko (Professor, Dept. of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Professor, Div. of Biomedical Engineering University of Saskatchewan, Canada), Dr Norton Stephen (Assistant Professor, Pathology, AIIMS MADURAI), Dr. Shyam Lal (Associate Professor, Department of ECE, NIT Karnataka), Dr. P. Thiyagarajan (Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science the Central University of Tamil Nadu), and Dr Malaya Kumar Nath (Assistant Professor, NIT Puducherry) were invited to deliver talks.

The programme was convened by Dr. Malaya Kumar Nath (Assistant Professor) and coordinated by Dr. Malaya Kumar Nath (Assistant Professor). The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Menaka Murugensan (Scientist (F), IGCAR, Kalpakkam) in the presence of the Registrar (Dr. S. Sundarvaradhan), Dean R & C (Dr. G. S. Mahapatra). Around 75 participants from places such as Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Kerala registered and participated in the event. Reputed Resource persons such as Dr. Menaka Murugensan (Scientist (F), IGCAR, Kalpakkam), Dr. Sairaman (Senior Resident, Department of Medical Gastroenterology, GTKMCH, Tamilnadu), Dr. Pratheepan Yogarajah (University of Ulster, UK), Dr. Mithun Kumar Kar (Assistant Professor, Amrita Viswavidyapeeta), and Dr. Malaya Kumar Nath (Assistant Professor, NIT Puducherry) were invited to deliver talks.
