Our training towards becoming principled, strong and empathetic people begins in the dojo.
No matter where in the world you train Malavé Do and in which dojo, the same rules of order and code of conduct should apply.
A fundamental prerequisite for all karate training is order. Order is connected with respect and responsiveness and creates a good foundation for learning and development.
In order for the training and thus learning to be effective, both physical and mental order is required. All forms of disorder distract the mind in different ways and interfere with concentration. This applies both to a messy physical environment and a disorganized thinking.
Ariving at the training on time with the right equipment, listening attentively to the teacher's instructions and performing all exercises with focus and full concentration is definitely the most effective way for practitioners to develop both individually and as a groups.
Order is also very important for safety in karate training. Each member’s ability to focus and follow the teacher’s instructions creates a safe environment in the dojo.
There are 15 basic principles that apply in every dojo. These rules and principles are very simple and easy to follow and are for the development, well-being and safety of the members.
The most fundamental and common principle is respect.
Respect for your teachers, respect for your fellow students, respect for order and respect for premises and equipment.
You should apply the same respectful approach to your surroundings in any context - whether you are in the dojo or elsewhere. In this way, you contribute to a better and more pleasant world while honoring Malavé Do and its principles of life.
