The mathematical laws of
morphology and biomechanics
Biological Principles, Mathematical Models, and Data
Our Mission
Our work is dedicated to the understanding and description of fundamental biological principles through mathematical and computational methods. We aim at collecting the most diverse cross-disciplinary perspective with the aim of learning, teaching, and diffusing knowledge about quantitative and qualitative methods coming from mathematics, statistics, machine learning, and data science, with the intent of understanding the biological laws which determine morphology, biomechanics, organismal biology in general, and the connections between them.
Academics, researchers, and community members are all welcome to participate in our several initiatives, which will include courses, tutorials, student and research projects, seminar series, workshops, and much more. Our intention is to move forward this fascinating research area and communicate our results to the widest audiences possible in an atmosphere of collaboration and scientific progress.
We believe in the fundamental principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion and welcome participation and collaboration from the most diverse communities, especially minorities and under-represented groups, who will enrich and bring light to our activities.
Our activities are funded by an NSF-Simons Pilot Project Program Grant 2021-2022 and by an NSF DMS/NIGMS Grant 2022-2025.
