Course Rules

  1. SAFETY FIRST! Watch out for other park users:
Even though the frisbees are plastic, you should never throw when park users or other players are within range. Don’t throw over hills or around corners where you cannot see if the area if clear of people; use a spotter if needed. Always give other park users the right of way.

  2. SAFETY FIRST: Watch out for snakes:
As always in forested areas in Australia, you should exercise caution and be mindful of the possibility of a snake encounter. Watch out for snakes when retrieving a frisbee or making a throw from bushy areas.

  3. Objective of the Game: Disc Golf is played like traditional golf, but with frisbees. One throw (stroke) is counted each time the disc is thrown and when a penalty is incurred. The goal is to play each hole in the fewest strokes possible. The player with the lowest total strokes for the entire course wins.

  4. Local rules: Holes 1 and 2: If members of the public are using the benches in close proximity to the flight paths for holes 1 or 2, players must use only the red tee, not the blue tees.

  5. Tee Throws: Each hole begins with a tee throw. On this course there are both red (easier) and blue (harder) tee positions.

  6. Lie: The lie is the spot where the player’s previous disc throw has landed. The player’s next throw is made from directly behind the lie. A run-up and normal follow-through, after release, is allowed.

  7. Trees: If a disc lands in a tree, the next shot can be taken from directly below the tree without a penalty.

  8. Completion Of Hole: When a player’s disc hits the chain or hole number marker, it is the completion of that hole.

  9. Out Of Bounds: A throw that lands out of bounds, must be played from a point up to 1 metre in bounds from where the disc crossed over the out of bounds line. All public roads, footpaths and the park boundaries mark the out of bounds area. A 1 shot penalty applies.
