My name is Sofia Pomares, and I am a current 7th grader at Le Jardin Academy, a school located in Kailua. Recently moving here from Sonoma, California, I joined LJA with a hope to make an impact in my community. I am so grateful to say this has been that opportunity. Working together with Kiae Kotas, a friend and peer, we focused on the topic of the effects of tourism on the fashion industry in Hawaii, and its impacts of the environment. We are both passionate about saving our environment, and are so happy knowing that we've brought awareness, and hopefully encouraged others to take action.
