Students need to learn how to find important evidence in a story or illustration, so in this lesson, students will apply prior knowledge in order to make an accurate prediction.
You all will be able to analyze, compare, and apply evidence in order to make an accurate prediction.
Students will be shown an illustration and, as a class, will answer the findings they found from the clues given in the illustration. They then will predict what they believe will happen next by comparing their answers with their table . After this, the students will then move on to predicting a short story. The short story will be done as a class. Students will analyze the evidence they found, apply it to their prior knowledge, and then compare answers with their peers at their tables. Finally, after the short story, you will move on to an assignment in our Google classroom, and a corresponding read-aloud of the book will also be found there. This assignment will help you to predict the book's beginning, middle, and end.Â
