Good morning second grade! Today we are going to be learning about making a prediction. A prediction is what you believe will happen in the future. To make a prediction, we will need to find evidence, then analyze the evidence we found and compare it with our groups. Evidence is the important clues or information found in a story or illustration. Analyzing means carefully reviewing the evidence you found to ensure it will help with your prediction. To compare means to find similarities or differences in each of your answers amongst your group's answers.
Today, students, you will predict an illustration and a short story. I will show you an illustration, and we will look at the illustration and find out what will happen next as a class by finding the clues. I will ask many questions throughout this lesson to ensure you understand when we work on the short story together. If any student needs help, I will break it down into smaller pieces to help you get a better understanding. Be prepared to answer questions throughout this lesson!
We will begin with predicting our illustration as a class, then move on to our short story. After we master these two together, you will listen to Duck On a Bike in Google Classroom and fill out your prediction packet on your own, which also can be found in google classroom. This assignment will need to be turned in to our Google classroom.
