Using InDesign, I practiced creating print layouts in the newspaper and letterhead projects. I transferred skills developed in Photoshop like changing resolution of my RGB photo to 300 dpi, and 150 dpi for my K-Only photo. In addition, I experimented with various paragraph styles +Â fonts, spot colors, bleeds, printers marks, and file packaging. My personal logo from the illustrator unit was also utilized in my letterhead project. In professional domains like branding/marketing/communications, this expertise is helpful in producing corporate and creative pieces such as reports, flyers, and invitations.
In this project, I put a lot of effort into font selection, content arrangement, and the overall layout of this piece. Aside from creating the newspaper, I learned the importance of properly exporting the document into a packaged production folder for the receiver. In a professional environment like a newsroom or media company, this skill is a must have for print and web publishing.
Here, I created a letter document in InDesign using my logo made in Illustrator. All design elements compliments my brand's spot colors and font, like the light green footer with my contact information. After creating a packaged folder, my document is ready for print or web use. This process can be transferable to roles within branding, marketing, and publishing industries.
