We are a small fraction of university student from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals who work under the supervision of Prof. Michael A. Kaminski. Our research topics are covering a wide spectrum of micropaleontological works, from modern to past geologic records, for the basic biostratigraphical application, to the environmental assessment and oceanographical proxies, mostly based on the observation of foraminifera (benthic and planktic).
ABOUT OUR WORKS SO FAR
By using the micropaleontological components within the rock records (foraminifera, nanoplankton, ostracods, etc.), we tried to correlate one region with another to link certain events from the past or match the occurrences of certain genera/species across the timeline.
By identifying the chemical components and signatures within the micropaleontological objects (foraminifera tests), we tried to understand the ancient environmental conditions that affected the organisms' living habitats, such as temperature, salinity, oxygen levels, and more.
By analyzing different aspects such as assemblage changes, the appearance and disappearance of certain taxa, and the occurrence of abnormalities within the organisms or the sediment substrate through sample observation and experimental approach, we tried to understand how environmental conditions affect the likelihood of our targeted subject (marine biocalcifiers), mostly based on modern materials.

Our collections
Inside our main office at KFUPM (as shown in the previous and following photographs), we hold a significant collection of books, journals, and personal copies of micropaleontology materials from various periods, dating back to the early 20th century. These are available not only as printed or hard copies but also in scanned versions in our digital library.
Hardcopy of several micropaleontology and miscelaneous journal collections Part 1: Journal of Foraminiferal Research, Micropaleontology, Journal of Micropalaeontology, Revue de Micropaléontologie, and more.
Hardcopy of several micropaleontology and miscelaneous journal collections Part 2: Journal of Paleontology, Palaeontology, Paleobiology, and more.
Hardcopy of several personal reprints and special publication from different researcher across the globe. Some of the notable person including Allan Bé, John Hofker, Hiroshi Kitazato, Joseph Cushman, Edward Heron-Allen, and many more.
