The Maize Education Association is united in our belief and support for the Maize public schools and the teaching profession. We know that it is part of our professional responsibility to unite together for the good of our students and for our profession.
Our mission is to promote quality public schools, strengthen the teaching profession, and improve the well-being of our members.
We are a volunteer organization supported by our members' dues, grants from the Kansas-NEA, and volunteers from our membership. MEA is part of 20,000 members in Kansas and 3 million members across the country. The NEA is the largest labor union in the United States.
Our Consitution and Bylaws state that the aims and purposes of the Association shall be:
to promote better educational opportunities for children and elevate the standards of instruction,
the development of a professional spirit among its members,
the development of a unity of purpose in the educational endeavor of its members,
the advancement of its members in their profession,
to represent Maize educators in the contract negotiation and maintenance process.
