The grand finals per division are to be saved at the end of the tournament.
The winner of a match shall be determined by the sum of the percentage scores of all the songs played in the round. The pair with the higher percentage score will be the match winner.
The match is considered a tie if the sum of the percentage scores of both competing pairs is the exact same, down to the fourth decimal place. To break the tie, the sum of their DX scores will be used. The pair with the higher DX score sum will be declared the winner of the round. If both the sums of percentage scores and DX scores are the same, a tiebreaker song will be played. The song will be taken from the song pool.
All standard matches consist of exactly two (2) songs, except for the Grand Finals (Match 6) of each division, which consist of three (3) songs.
Every pair is granted exactly one (1) Song-Pick Card for the entire tournament. At the start of any match, a pair may declare they are invoking their Secret Weapon. This allows them to manually select any song from their division's pool to replace one of the random song slots.
The Catch: Once your pair uses this pick, your card is flipped over and gone for the rest of the tournament. You cannot use it again in future matches.
Clashing Picks: If both pairs invoke their Secret Weapon in the exact same match, the match becomes a 100% counter-pick war. Each team gets to choose one song, and no random selection will be used for that round.
If a team still has their Secret Weapon card intact by Grand Finals, they may use it for rounds 1 and 2.
All chosen custom picks must stay strictly within your division's level caps and must NOT be a Maimai Circle Plus song. LONG tracks are completely banned.
All players MUST wear gloves during official tournament matches to maintain touchscreen responsiveness and hygiene.
Slamming, kicking, or hitting the cabinet, side panels, or touchscreens with excessive force is strictly prohibited.
If a player notices a legitimate hardware malfunction (e.g., broken buttons, uncalibrated audio), they must notify a floor marshal before the song begins or within the first 15 seconds. Once a match is completed, the score is final.
Once a match is called on the PA/mic, teams have 3 minutes to report to their designated cabinet.
If a game is interrupted by a power failure, cabinet error, or external emergency, the game will be replayed using the same song and settings.
Players are responsible for their own bags, arcade cards, and personal items. Organizers and Timezone staff are not liable for lost or stolen items.
The Lead Organizers have the final say on all rule interpretations, score disputes, and disciplinary actions on-site.
All qualified pairs must check in at the official admin desk by 11:40 AM (20 minutes prior to the 12:00 PM opening ceremony).
A pair is considered "present" only when BOTH players are physically at the venue. If Player A is at TriNoma but Player B is still on the way when the bracket begins, the entire pair will face an automatic Disqualification (DQ).
If a qualifying pair is a No-Show or gets disqualified for lateness, their slot will immediately be forfeited and given to the 5th Place seed from the qualifier leaderboard of that division.
If a pair qualifies but realizes they cannot attend the live finals, they must officially notify the admins within 24 hours of the leaderboard announcement.
If a pair withdraws or breaks up after qualifying, their team slot is fully voided. Individual players from a dissolved team cannot ditch their partner to group up with an eliminated player or act as a substitute for another team.
The Maimai PH Admin Team reserves the right to instantly void any qualifier entry suspected of photo manipulation, score tampering, or illegal cabinet modification.
The player who qualifies must be the player on the floor. If the admin team receives verified reports or video proof that a top-tier player ground out a score on someone else's Aime/Banapass to get them into the finals, both the proxy and the account owner will be sanctioned.
Players must treat the Timezone venue and equipment with absolute respect. Violently hitting the buttons, punching the touchscreen, or slamming headphones out of frustration will result in an immediate match loss and potential venue eviction by mall security.
Intentionally distracting an opponent mid-song (e.g., screaming, blocking their line of sight, physical contact) will result in an instant DQ.
Corporate entities like Timezone and Pepsi sponsor us. Any player throwing explicit slurs, flashing obscene gestures on the live stream camera, or exhibiting extreme unsportsmanlike behavior will be disqualified and forfeit all prizes.
All rules are subject to interpretation by the tournament directors. All final decisions regarding rulesets, player disputes, and disqualifications are at the sole and absolute discretion of the Maimai Philippines Admin Team.
