Q: How many pairs qualify for the finals?
The top 4 pairs per division (a total of 24 finalists / 12 pairs across all divisions) will advance to the live Finals.
Q: Can we do the qualifiers on arcades other than Timezone?
Qualifier entries should only be performed in Timezone branches. Any other submissions will be considered null and void.
Q: Which Timezone branches are eligible for the qualifiers?
All Timezone branches with maimai DX cabinets are eligible for qualifiers.
Q: Can I register on multiple pairs?
You should register with only one pair. If the organizers determine that you have registered on multiple pairs, all of those submissions will be considered invalid.
Q: Do we need to play all the qualifier songs in a single credit?
Not necessarily! You can play the qualifier songs individually across multiple credits, and submit your best attempts in the registration form.
Q: Are submissions for the pair? Or do we need to submit individually?
A single submission for the pair should be enough. Only one person should fill out the form and submit their scores, and should be on the lookout on their registered Google account for any email confirmations that may come their way.
Q: Do we need to pay PHP 500 in pure cash, or can we use promos like Buy-One-Get-One (BOGO) or PWD discounts?
A: Any method works, as long as the credited load on your card equals PHP 500 in a single transaction. Whether you use the BOGO promo, PWD discounts, or a standard load, as long as the final receipt reflects a PHP 500 load transaction, it is valid.
Q: Does the PHP 500 load need to be on a single receipt, or can we accumulate multiple smaller loads?
A: It must be a single-receipt purchase of PHP 500. Cumulative receipts (e.g., two separate PHP 250 loads) will not be accepted.
Q: Are Timezone load receipts purchased before today’s announcement valid for entry?
A: Currently, only receipts issued starting today (September 11, 2026) onward are valid. We are actively clarifying with Timezone management if earlier receipts can be honored, so please stay tuned for updates before submitting!
Q: What counts as valid proof of purchase for registration?
A: We accept either an official physical paper receipt from the counter or an official e-receipt with a clear transaction number. Screenshots from the Timezone Fun App will NOT be accepted, as they lack the verifiable transaction details necessary to prevent forgery.
Q: Do both players in a team need to submit proof of purchase, or is one receipt per pair enough?
A: Both players must provide proof of purchase! Each player needs to load PHP 500 separately and upload their own individual receipt during registration (2 receipts total per team).
Q: Can our team submit updated qualifier scores multiple times?
A: Yes! You are free to resubmit your scores as many times as you want while qualifiers are open. We will automatically log your latest submission as your official entry. If there are problems with your entry, we will ask you to resubmit.
Q: When do the participants need to be in the venue?
Participants must be in the venue by 11:40 AM, and must be in the play area when it's their turn. The pair must also respond to any calls within 3 minutes; otherwise, they may be put off or disqualified.
Q: How long would the matches last?
For each category, the standard bracket matches consist of exactly two (2) songs, and the Grand Finals will consist of three (3) songs.
Q: When would we expect the results of the qualifiers to be announced?
Two (2) days before the tournament, we will contact eligible pairs through all contact points (Facebook Group post, Discord messages, and Email).
Q: I am qualified, but I wouldn't be able to participate! What now?
At the same time as the release of the results, pairs have two (2) days before the tournament to notify the organizers. This will forfeit their slot and offer it to the next pair.
Q: My partner can't go to the venue! Can I substitute my partner with another?
Only the qualified players who registered in the pair can participate in the tournament. Their slot will be offered to the next pair.
Q: How are songs selected?
Match songs will be determined via an online song selector, powered by Zetaraku.
Q: What happens if a cabinet malfunctions during the tournament?
Players must notify a floor marshal before the match begins, or within the first ten seconds of the song. Once a match is completed, the score is final. Phantom touches, dead zones, or misinputs mid-match are considered an inherent part of tournament conditions, and matches will not be restarted with these issues.
Q: What if a match is interrupted?
If a game is interrupted by a power failure, cabinet error, or any external emergency, it will be replayed using the same song and settings, provided that the match can be retried safely.
Q: What happens if my rating exceeds my division’s maximum threshold before the Grand Finals?
A: Your registration will be immediately voided. Please ensure your rating stays strictly within your registered division's allowed range from the moment you register through the end of the tournament day.
Q: Can I submit qualifier scores if the arcade cabinet goes offline?
A: Yes! As long as you scanned your Aime or Banapass card before playing, the required track result details are still displayed on the end-screen. Even if the cabinet fails to sync to the server, your submission is valid as long as all required info is visible in your screenshot.
Q: If my peak rating was higher in a previous version of maimai (or on another server), which rating determines my division?
A: We strictly follow your PEAK rating across all versions and regions. Even if your current rating dropped or was achieved outside international servers, your highest historical peak rating will be used to place you in your division.
