We are excited to announce Maine Lightning’s newly designed summer sports camp with a particular focus on soccer. The mornings options will focus solely on soccer; the afternoons options will have a choice of more soccer, additional sports, and/or fun games and activities: kickball, touch football, baseball/softball, arts & crafts, nature walks, and more!. Campers can choose to attend half-day, either morning or afternoon, or stay all day for loads of fun! Partial-week campers are also welcome! Coach George Sherry from Maine Lightning is running the Waynflete Summer Camps! Coach Sherry is in his ninth year at Waynflete Summer Camps. With 25 years as a middle school educator, Coach Sherry has coached Waynflete’s Varsity Girls Soccer program for five years. He is a former Division I soccer player and has his USSF C Coaching License. He has coached boy’s and girl’s teams at all levels: Rec, Travel, Middle School, High School Varsity, ODP and Premier, and is looking forward to another great summer at Waynflete’s Fore River Fields. Yarmouth Colts’ Summer Soccer Camps
The Yarmouth Colts’ Summer Soccer Camps have been among the most successful soccer camps in the region since 1993. Thousands of campers have benefitted from our child-friendly programs. Again, this year we have assembled a very strong staff of local and regional coaches. Camp Directors, Rich Smith & Mike Hagerty, are returning for their 32nd year. They are two of the most successful high school coaches in Maine, holding over 500 career victories, fifteen Southern Maine championships, and fourteen Maine State Championships between them. Both Coach Smith & Coach Hagerty have also been coaching children ages four to 18 for over 20 years and only hire experienced and child-friendly coaches to help. Camps is held at the fields surrounding the high school: the YHS turf field; the grass behind turf; the YHS grass Field Hockey field; & the YHS Softball outfield.
