The 2nd Coastal Carbon Ecosystems Symposium brought together a diverse group of legislators and government partners, coastal stakeholders, scientists and others to collaboratively advance research, policy initiatives, and innovative strategies that protect and enhance Maine’s coastal carbon resources.
The 2025 Symposium was central to a larger ongoing initiative of the Maine Blue Carbon Network which aims to foster legislative engagement on the issue of blue carbon, broadly disseminate informative educational materials, and develop innovative policy and management recommendations. Critical to this effort is the collaborative engagement of a broad range of thought leaders, subject matter experts, and interested parties.
