Tangiene Nyereyegona (she/they) is an international artist, director, producer, performer, stage manager, sociologist, and performance theorist. Tangiene has studied and trained at University of the Arts, Harvard University, York University, and Victoria School of the Arts. She recently directed the world premiere of Raysam Donkoh-Halm's The Cookie Referendum. Additional directing and producing credits include David Adjmi's adaptation of Marie Antoinette, Everybody, The Trojan Women, Edison, and so it goes, The Laramie Project, and I Dream Before I Take the Stand. Tangiene has collaborated with Free Soil Arts Collective, Merrimack Repertory Theatre, Lyric Stage Company, Martian Radio Theatre, FreeVerse! Poetry Organization, and Studio 506 Theatre where they fulfilled a directing residency in 2018. Tangiene's work is grounded in the belief that an interdisciplinary approach to creating art can widen the scope of our natural curiosity and equip us in meeting the challenges of our time. She is devoted to fostering spaces of collective healing and engaging revolutionary practices that push our industries and artistry forward.
