Summary:
For solving the load-shedding problem & emergency use of regular electronic device, at first, we needed to select a suitable product. We approach three product ideas to our course teacher & “Portable Power Source” product idea was selected by our honorable course teacher ‘Faisal Mahmud’ sir. Here, our target was making this product affordable & portable for everyone. So, everyone can buy this and carried one place to another easily like smart-phones. After selection, we need to understand the customer demand for this product in market. For knowing their requirements, we have done a customer survey & collected feedback about our product by using Google from. Through this data we create a ‘Quality Function Development’ (QFD) for our product. From this QFD we understood where we need to focus more. Here our major concerns were minimum cost, light weight, maximum output & long-lasting. Then, we create a ‘Black Box Analysis’ on our product to find the output about what we get from it. After that, we made the ‘Component hierarchy’. Where, we put each part of this product in a separate unit. We have done ‘Fast Diagram’ on the basis of every unit from ‘Component Hierarchy’. In this, we described how can we get that output & why we needed that. We have done ‘Material Process Selection’ for every material. We need to select the best materials for our product also expand our selection reasons. We gave the light weight, low price & better components more importance while making this to full-fill our customer demand. We have also done ‘Manufacturing Process Selection’ where we described which materials we need to buy and which needs to manufacture. Then we make ‘Joining Process Selection’. We use three types of join here, Permanent, Semi-permanent & Temporary. After that, we make design of the separate part for our product, i.e. (PCB board, battery, battery holder, top, bottom, indicator light, display, switch, socket, screw, DC in jack). We assemble them & make a finished product. We try to give aesthetic view on it. Finally, we make ‘Cost Analysis’ to our product. Here, we try to calculate our all-fixed cost & variable cost, adjust our selling price, calculate profit & find our BEP as an industry level.
