About Me:
I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Arts and Science, at MacEwan University, Edmonton, Canada. I teach computer science courses and conduct research in cybersecurity.
Perior to this position, I was an Assistant Professor in the School of Computer Science, Faculty of Science, University of Windsor, Windsor, ON, Canada, from 2021 to 2023. I had been a team lead in the Canadian Institute for Cybersecurity (CIC) on Operating Technology (OT) Forensics and DNS Firewall R&D projects and Postdoc Research Fellow at the University of New Brunswick (UNB), Canada.
I earned a BSc. degree in Telecommunication Engineering and an MSc. degree in Telecommunication-Cryptology in 2000 and 2005, respectively. I worked for the Telecommunication Company of Iran (TCI), Babol, Iran, as a Network Engineer from 2006 to 2014. I did my Ph.D. in Computer Engineering at Sungkyunkwan University, South Korea in 2018.
My research interest mainly focuses on cybersecurity, including digital forensics, network security, blockchain, and privacy- preserving. I received the "Best Researcher Award- 2023" from the 6th Edition of International Research Awards on INFORMATION AND COMPUTER APPLICATIONS (SFConferences award, 2023), the “Best Paper Award (AINA Conference-2015)” and was the winner of the “SKKU Superior Research Award 2017 (runner up)” and the ”SKKU Scholarship for Outstanding International Students (2014-2018)” from Sungkyunkwan University, Republic of Korea.
