Students in grades K-8 take 4 courses to be considered full-time students (math, science, social studies, and ELAR). Middle school also can take fine arts while High School students have a full course catalog to meet graduation plans.
There are a full school year’s worth of lessons in each but if a student has mastered a concept, he/she can test out and move on.
My 5.5 yo is currently completing the 1st grade with TTU and it has been an answered prayer for us. She was ahead of her kinder peers in math and reading but not in writing.
In 1st grade, Final course grades are determined by the unit exams. So when she knew the content she just took the exam and where she needed to learn something we did the lessons first.
Because all the courses are self-paced students can completed them faster or slower than a school year. If faster they can also move on to the next level.
Students can finish a semester course in as little as 30 days or as long as 6 months. Each semester course has lessons for a full semester similar to the public school calendar but each student determines the pace.
