I developed the lesson plan for my final demonstration using the San Isidro Sentral School (Self-Contained Classroom) template, with guidance from my co-teacher, Ma'am Cristina. The lesson is designed for kindergarten students, focusing on the topic of Direction (Left and Right), and builds upon the lesson Ma'am Cristina had previously taught.
In an effort to enhance the plan, I worked closely with Ma'am Cristina, who offered insightful feedback and suggested adjustments based on her experience with the learners, particularly those with autism. This collaboration allowed me to fine-tune the lesson to better meet the specific needs of the students, and ensuring a more effective and tailored learning experience.
In the Philippines, lesson planning follows several formats, including the Detailed Lesson Plan, Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan, and Daily Lesson Log. However, for my final demonstration in San Isidro Central School, I was directed to use the Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan format, referencing the Matatag Curriculum for Kindergarten. This approach allowed for modifications and adjustments to cater to the specific needs of the students, particularly those with autism. Additionally, the adjustments were guided by the K to 12 Transition Curriculum provided by the Republic of the Philippines Department of Education. This curriculum ensures that lesson plans are not only tailored to individual learning needs but also align with the broader goals of the national educational framework.
