Teen court (January)
Teen Court is a program sponsored by Volunteers for Youth Justice, members can receive 2-3 service hours for attendance, sessions are held once a month.
Volunteers act as members of a jury or as attorneys as they hear details of a real court case and decide the sentencing of the defendant. This is great practice for anyone interested in mock trial and exposes members to law, public speaking, and internship opportunities with real lawyers.
NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.

common ground christmas market
Volunteer with local organization Common Ground at their annual Christmas Market! Volunteers will help community members shop for gifts, restock "merchandise," and help carry gifts to cars. Volunteers on the latest shift may also be asked to help clean up.

9/11 commemoration event
Volunteer at the Caddo Juvenile Court as we commemorate those who passed from the 9/11 attacks. Volunteers will be reading names and descriptions of victims to honor them. The event will be televised, so do not sign up if you don't want to be on TV.

Book drive for the people's promise
The People's Promise is a local organization in Louisiana that serves our community. They are currently forming a new community library to enhance the education of low-income children. Please donate any book you can!
How: Drop books off in Mrs. Glass's and Mrs. Wakins's rooms in A12!
When: From August 25 - November 25
Hours: 1 service hour per 3 books donated
*the maximum amount of service hours you can get is 3 hours total, but there is no limit to the amount of books you can donate!
