Sarah Palumbo demonstrates a deep love of the class material that goes above and beyond any expectations. Her weekly Latin news letters were not only informative, but endearing. They were a joy to receive, and show that Ms. Palumbo truly loves the language, which in turn made me love it even more. Additionally, her feedback on graded assignments was always wildly in depth and incredibly informative. It was evident from my feedback that she takes her time going through each and every student’s submission with care. Ms. Palumbo truly cares for her students and is passionate about the subject she teaches. What a wonderful instructor! I cannot sing her praises enough!

Professor Palumbo was the most attentive, responsive, and engaging Professor I've had in my time as a college student. Not only did she consistently go above and beyond in communicating what was required of me to satisfy all the necessary course components, but she also went out of her way to respond on weekends or after 5:00 to answer my questions about assignments or deadlines. Furthermore, I absolutely love the way she modeled her course and the sheer creative freedom she structured her course around. There were intensive writing portions, scansion portions, metaphrasing portions, translative portions, interpretive portions, first-person rewrites of the works we were translating, and even an artwork portion! Professor Palumbo is the heart and soul of the Latin Program at Rio Salado, and I hope and pray more students will have the honor of getting to learn Latin from her in the future. If there are any opportunities whatsoever, I can expand on her as an instructor from a former student's perspective, I would love the chance to do so. Not only did I feel like she made a welcoming learning environment, but she adequately prepped me for the workforce as well. I can honestly say I am in a far better position as a college graduate than I was prior to taking her courses.

Weird word order, verb conjugation, and declensions were par to the course, and my familiarity with Latin gave me a linguistic leg up!"
