Nomen est mihi Magistra Palumbo. I have been a Latin instructor since the Fall of 1997 and have had the opportunity to teach both in the public and private school setting for over 25 years. I have taught all levels of students ranging from preschool age to high school as well as special needs students or home school students. I began my Latin journey when I was 14 in the state of Connecticut and fell in love with every aspect of the ancient Romans because of my amazing Latin teacher and the National Junior Classical League. Through the years, not only have I taught Latin, but also have been a very active member of the National Junior Classical League, Arizona Junior Classical League, and the American Classical League. I also have two children who are learning Latin (and Greek) as well and yes, they do have their own toga and stola! My goal for you is to fall in love with the language of the ancient Romans who have impacted our literature, language, government, laws, and art. If you have any questions, send me an email.
Gratias!
I began to practice yoga after I was plagued with daily headaches and stress. In August of 2000, I was in my third year of teaching high school Latin and knew that I needed to address those ailments to reclaim myself and a sense of balance in my life. Over twenty years later, I believe that my yoga practice has gotten me through juggling my responsibilities as a dedicated educator and a mother. While teaching my students, I began to implement many of the practices that I learned in class and noticed wonderful changes in my students as well as my own two children. Finally, in January of 2022, I began my Yoga Teacher Training with Inner Vision Yoga. I believe in the transformative power of yoga for all, whether they are young or old. I hope to share my knowledge of yoga with others and show them how yoga can help them transform their lives for the better. I currently teach for Tumbleweed Rec Center, Freestone Rec Center, and Chandler Community Center.

I have been a vegan for over 30 years and am a dedicated volunteer at a local shelter in Tempe. Both Mia (child #2) and I are orange paw level volunteers who are certified in "Fear Free Shelter." If you are looking for a wonderful shelter to support, visit Lost Our Home Pet Rescue. Dog and cat people welcomed. There are many ways in which you can support that range from walking the dogs to folding laundry.
