I got married in the Salt Lake Temple, a year ago. I am from Grass Lake, Michigan. I was blessed as a baby in the church, then my family went in and out of activity for years. I decided that what I wanted to be a member of the church and that being a member would be the best thing for me because I would become a better person through striving to be like Christ.
Some impressions that I had from this project are that I can help my family understand why the church doesn't endorse the use of some substances. My family has many addictions, and they have never understood why they are bad in the eyes of the Lord. I hope that through this project, I can help them understand.

When I first got the topic as addiction, I was grateful for it. Addictions are a large problem facing many people today, and I want to be able to help them. There was a lot of examples to pull from, so I hope that hearing other peoples stories will give those who read this a hope they can overcome anything! I hope this Magazine will help to give you the hope you need to overcome your addictions!

Studying more about addiction and how it effects many lives has been very interesting. Addiction is an obstacle that no know knows how to get over unless they have themselves. It is a very personal thing but on the other hand, it needs to be something you can't do on our own. We can learn how the gospel of Jesus Christ can help us overcome addictions, we are not alone. I hope that we will be able to help many individuals come to understand that fundamental truth to overcoming addictions.
I grew up in in Utah where most of my family were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I enjoy reading, writing, drawing, and singing when I have time. I am attending my first semester of college at Brigham Young University in Idaho. When we first started this project, I wasn't quite sure how it would conclude. I am proud to say that I think that those with an open heart can learn a lot from our work. I have not had much exposure to people struggling with addictions, but I know I will be able to help others when the time comes.

My immediate reaction to finding out that we would be preparing a magazine with information to do with addictions was actually positive. Addiction is a pressing issue in the world that we live in today and it was a privilege to learn more for myself and to bring together helpful information for those who may read this magazine.

Creating this website and focusing my studies on addiction has helped me understand more about myself, my beliefs and how the nature of human beings react to certain things. We can become completely controlled by something without ever intentionally giving up power. At first I didn't think I would be able to learn anything more about addiction than I already knew, but I was wrong and I'm excited that I had the chance to help anyone struggling with this issue.
