The district had recently made a change by implementing an online learning management system (LMS). Where many teachers had adopted this tool into their practice there were still many that relied on handing out paper-based assignments and assigning work without the use of the LMS. This inconsistency in delivering instruction has been affecting students with too much variation in delivery. A committee was appointed of administrators tasked with figuring out a solution to this matter so instruction could be driven in a uniform way.
As a means of designing an appropriate solution, this task group has adopted the ADDIE model to identify the issues holding back some teachers from embracing the new LMS (Quigley, 2019). A survey was created to satisfy the initial step of this model that all faculty would be required to complete prior to the next professional development day. From this information, the group would properly design a professional development day contoured to the needs of the district. Since the district follows the Danielson model, domains one and two would be part of this analysis.
