Search and Rescue (SAR) Drill
Our Search and Rescue (SAR) Drill is a hands-on, community-based training activity designed to strengthen local capacity to respond during emergencies and disasters. The drill brings together community volunteers, barangay responders, and local organizations to practice coordinated action in realistic disaster scenarios.
The SAR Drill focuses on basic, life-saving skills such as safe search techniques, victim extraction, first aid, communication, and teamwork. Emphasis is placed on coordination, situational awareness, and responder safety—recognizing that communities are often the first responders when disasters strike.
Rather than a purely technical exercise, the drill highlights collective decision-making, mutual aid, and community leadership. Participants learn how to work together using available local resources while respecting community knowledge and context.
Through this drill, we aim to:
Improve readiness and confidence of community responders
Strengthen coordination among volunteers and local units
Practice safe, effective, and people-centered rescue actions
Build trust and solidarity within and across communities
The SAR Drill is part of our broader commitment to community-led disaster preparedness, resilience, and collective care.
