On another reconnaissance mission, I came across a font called Backlog; although its designer (who was not identified) probably intended to design a contemporary font, the letterforms were pure Art Deco. I adapted this design, replacing the original thick-and-thin strokes with the present bi-line construction. Named, of course, for a certain garden which is not really a garden in NYC.
In almost any design project, the artist has to choose a font that work well with the concept and support the idea. As such, he is in a better position to select the ideal font if he has a collection of fonts at his disposal.
