"20 Something" is one of those songs that takes all the doubt and fear of being in your twenties and wears it as a badge of honor as if to say, "I have no idea what I'm doing, but I'm still me."

"Story Of My Life" is a song that represents jumping into the deep end with no life vest, which of course is terrifying, but can end up being so rewarding. Ant Clemons describes manifesting his dream of being a professional musician by quitting his job at Red Lobster and focusing on music. That leap of faith paid off as he now has worked with some of the biggest artists out today.

"24" is a song that doesn't sugarcoat anything, by detailing all of the nuances of being 24 and feeling left behind. There is something so relatable about the lyrics, "friends getting married, one has a baby," because every day, the people we grew up with are becoming full adults alongside us.

"Best Days" describes the difficulty of falling into a monotonous routine that comes with being a young adult as the lyrics say, "What if the rest stays the same for all my life?" Doing things like going to work at a nine-to-five, preparing meals, and working out can make the days you live feel the same, which is why you have to fill that "meantime" with things you enjoy.

"Landslide" is one of those magical songs that seems to resonate with anything you're going through, at any stage in life...but I think it speaks so beautifully to that odd, scary, but ultimately rewarding period of transition between childhood and adulthood. Being "afraid of changing," as the song puts it, is such a universal experience, but braving through it and seeing the other side of that shift makes it all worth it in the end.

"golden years" is one of those songs that push back against your twenties being full of only happiness and fun times, and shows a more well-rounded version in the lyrics, "Yeah I'm supposed to be in the prime of my life, but all I can see are the demons I fight."

"Breakaway" is the perfect song for anyone in their twenties who wants to follow a dream, as it describes the inner struggle of wanting to live a new life, while also understanding that to do that, you're leaving the ones you love behind...though when we "breakaway" is when we really transition into adulthood.

"Good Thing" is a song of self-confidence and a celebration of independence with the lyrics "I've already got a good thing with me," which is an important lesson for anyone in their twenties. Being okay by yourself is your ultimate superpower!

"jealous of my friends" normalizes the feeling of not being good enough in our twenties. The lyrics say "I know I'm not supposed to say it," but it's healthier to acknowledge that you're feeling it, in order to deal with it.

"pride.is.the.devil." is a song that highlights the tendency for ourselves to get in our own way in our twenties. It's easy to think you know everything as a twenty-something, but in reality, we have so much to learn.

"Eastside" is a song that describes the reality check one has in their twenties when adult responsibilities become the priority. When we get to this age, we often reminisce about our teenage years when life was easier.

"The Climb" is an iconic song that describes the benefits of growing as you strive to achieve your goals. In your twenties, there is often pressure to achieve quickly and to have things to show off to prove your success, but as this song beautifully illustrates, the journey of growth is the real sign of achievement. (The live version will change your life, FYI.)

When Ward finishes her playing career with the Sooners this fall, she plans to move to Nashville to pursue a professional singing career. And by no means is she starting from ground zero. There is a network of supporters, including music representative Jake LaGrone, waiting to further introduce Ward and her soulful voice to the world.

An injured shoulder slowed her progress at OU during her freshman season in 2012, but she rebounded to earn a starting outside hitter position and eventually All-Big 12 Freshman honors the following season, finishing fourth on the team in kills and blocks.

Ward recalls a world filled with gospel and various kinds of inspirational music before she eventually gravitated toward R&B and other styles. Her father, Stanton, owned a Lawton-based restaurant that featured a barbecue and blues theme. It was there that young Ward first picked up on artists like B.B. King and Stevie Ray Vaughn.

Back on the OU campus, Ward has become somewhat of a celebrity. The music videos she has posted on her YouTube page have attracted fans from across the country, including a famous professional athlete or two and more than a few talent scouts searching for the next big thing. 152ee80cbc
