Madhyasthta – The ADR Society, in collaboration with iCAMPS – The Incubation Cell, organised “Conventio” on 9th September 2025 for the first-year students of BBA LLB, BA LLB, and LLB. The session, conducted under the guidance of Dr. Shivangi Sinha ma'am, faculty Coordinator, introduced students to the importance of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and its growing relevance in reducing court pendency through amicable settlements. The objectives of the orientation was to familiarise students with how ADR serves as an effective substitute to court-based litigation, fostering quicker and amicable settlements.
Students were also introduced to GIADRA (Global Initiative for Academic Development in ADR), a platform promoting academic growth and international exposure in the field of dispute resolution.

Madhyasthta - The ADR Society with its initiative of spreading awareness in the field of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) organised a 'Client - Counselling Session on 27th September 2023 for the students of Master of Laws (LLM). The session was presided over by the Faculty Coordinator, Dr Shivangi Sinha and Dr Rohit, Asst Prof. The insights during this session revolved around the concept of Client Counseling and Alternative Dispute Resolution, giving a brief overview of how these alternate means of dispute settlement could substantially reduce the burden from traditional court based dispute settlement procedure, given the pendency of cases in our Courts. The session also gave a practical example of Client Counselling proceedings with the participation of students namely, Mohd. Zaid Husain, Aarya Shrivastava, and Pragati Dubey.

The session was held on August 28, 2023 where the students got the opportunity to get an overview of alternative mode of settlement of disputes without getting involved in the time consuming process of litigation. Additionally, the students got an informative view on different constituents of the ADR Society.
A one-day seminar by Mr Jayant Bhatt, Advocate, Hon’ble Supreme Court of India on "THE ART OF TALKING – ARBITRATION, NEGOTIATION & MEDIATION".
The Cell launched its very first special edition of a journal on ADR, where students, professionals, and eminent personalities of law, submitted their Research Papers.
The seminar explored the novel field of Arbitration in Sports Law and was conducted by Ms Lovely Dasgupta, Faculty Member, WBNUJS, also an expert on Sports Law.. She also gave a heads-up to the students on how to take up this new field of law national as well as international level.
The Cell organized its first webinar on “Arbitrating and Mediating Online” in collaboration with Presolv360 on 24th April 2020. The speakers for this webinar were Ms Namita Shah, Mr Bhaven Shah and Mr Aman Sanghavi.
The Speakers for the webinar were Mr Ankoosh Mehta (Partner, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas) and Ms Samiksha Pednekar (Associate, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas) who discussed on this issue with immense intellect and put forth their views in a very interactive manner. The Webinar gave students an insight on how the Indian Judiciary is entering into a new age era by adapting to virtual practices and proceedings during COVID-19 Pandemic and how it could redefine the Indian Legal System towards a new future.
GIADRA is an extension of “MADHYASTHTA – The ADR Society” of Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), New Law College, Pune born out of its primary objective of training and developing the skill set of students in the field of ADR, that is Arbitration, Negotiation, Mediation and Conciliation.
The Cell in order to bring to its students an opportunity to clear the air about different horizons of ADR and career opportunities in them, launched a new initiative named Prudentia Amicus – A Guide to Careers in ADR.

On 19th December 2020, the sixth session of this initiative was conducted which dealt with career prospects in Maritime Arbitration. The guest speaker for this session was Mr Madhvendra Singh, FCIArb CDR & Charted Engineer, International Arbitrator, Ministry of External Affairs.

Construction Arbitration
On 27th November 2020, the third session of this initiative was conducted which dealt with career prospects in the field of Investment Arbitration. The guest speaker for this session was Ms Kshama A. Loya, Leader, International Dispute Resolution Practice, Nishith Desai Associate.
On 7th November 2020, Madhyasthta – The ADR Cell organised an Oxford Style Debate 2020 in association with Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas. The topic of the debate was Anti – Arbitration Injunctions – Antithetical to the Arbitration Regime.
On 8th November 2020, Madhyasthta –The ADR Society organised the International Article Writing Competition on “The Future of ODR”. The competition was based on various themes and prizes.
Intra College Quiz was organised by the Madhyasthta - The ADR Cell on 17th April 2022.
