About the Cell

Madhyasthta - The ADR Cell, an Alternate Dispute Resolution cell which is a student initiative at Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed to be University's New Law College, Pune has been working efficiently in training and developing the skill sets of the students in the field of ADR that is arbitration, mediation, conciliation and negotiation by conducting various seminars and Intra-College competitions and at the same time spreading awareness about ADR practices within student community and giving information regarding various National and international competitions. The cell focuses on organising more such events in future. The ADR cell of New Law College focuses in developing the skills of students and helping them to pursue their career in arbitration and mediation. The cell has also been sending students to different colleges for attending various seminars organised all across the country. The alternative dispute resolution cell of the new Law College was instituted on August 1, 2019 since its inception the cell has done commendable work under the guidance of our I/C Principal Dr. Ujwala S. Bendale and our faculty in-charge, Dr. J. S. Dharm, Vice Principal, B.S.L., LL.M, D.L.L & L.W., Ph.D., Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed To Be University) New Law College, Pune. and Ms. Shivangi Sinha, Assistant Professor. The cell has a 27 member strong team of able and committed students from all the batches of New Law College. The ADR cell of New Law College emphasises the importance of preventive law and the need to be an effective counsellor in law office. It harnesses the students ability to deal with clients non- legal goals as well as the legal concerns. It emphasizes on the importance of arbitration, negotiation and mediation in resolving disputes and structuring transactions. It organizes regular activities for student teachers and the community.
