The last thing Julia and Janis remembered was sipping wine in a sketchy bar in Brazil. The next thing they knew they where in the middle of the Amazon Rainforest. Janis woke up first. She felt the crawling of a creature on her face. It was a spider.
“AHHHH JULIA THERES A SPIDER ON MY FACE HELP!!”
Julia woke up quite startled.
“Uhhhh…” Julia groaned as she rubbed her eyes.
“Janis where are we? We need to find our way out!”
Janis wasn’t concerned about that. She was afraid of the spider.
“Janis, we need to find our way back now. Lets just walk one direction and hope that we get to some sort of town.”
Julia directed Janis to follow. They walked and walked and walked. It was starting to get dark, and both sisters were beginning to feel the affects of the night. It was getting cold. They spent an hour and a half building a very disfunctional fort. They had no experience in the wild, they had no idea what they were doing.
“Okay, let’s build a fort Janis,” Julia directed.
Julia was a very motivated person, and very straight forward. Janis, on the other hand, was not. She was quite clumsy and had severe ADHD. She was smart in school.
They had a very restless sleep. Both Julia and Janis could feel the unevenness of the ground which bothered them both. As they got ready to get on the run Janis’s stomach started to rumble like an avalanche. Janis started to ask Julia about how they where going to get food, but they were interrupted by a loud roar.
“What is that?” Julia whispered to Janis.
Before Janis could respond to Julia a huge polar bear covered in leaves and dirt charged at them. As they dodged the polar bear they got a strong whiff of stinky bear poop.
Janis started to scream at the top of her lungs.
“What in the world?! Why is there a polar bear in the middle of the Amazon Rainforest?! How is it even alive?!”
Julia and Janis ran and ran and ran. They ran for an hour straight until they lost track of the polar bear. They sat in silence for 3 straight hours after that, heavily breathing and groaning from hunger. They decided they would hunt, and faced reality. If they didn’t eat they would die. Before the night fell they found 3 snails, cooked them, and ate them. It took them a lot of work to start the fire but they succeeded somehow. They seasoned the snails with dirt.
When they woke up the next morning they heard the jungling of keys and the growling of the polar bear. They heard a middle aged man scream a high pitched voice. Janis recognized that mans voice.
“Julia, I’m pretty sure I had work today. That sounds like my insane manager Jeff. He really gets on people when they dont call and don't show.”
Janis yelled in the distance.
“Jeff is that you?! How did you find me? I’m stranded in the middle of nowhere!”
Jeff groaned.
“Janis- you are fired!”
Janis was so happy. She didn't want to work at that trashy grocery store for one more minute. She was confused how Jeff managed to find her, but she was relieved. Julia was happy for her.
To be continued…
JEFF!!
