Madeline Peterson - 2027

Hello!

I have been playing softball since I was five years old, it has always been my passion. I love competing, being part of a team sport and being able to make friendships and memories with my teammates that will last a lifetime. I started playing competitively when I was 9 years old and have been on the same travel team since then, it is my second family. I grew up trying all sports, cross country, swimming, basketball, volleyball, and softball. I enjoy being a multi-sport athlete and have continued to play high school volleyball, but my first love remains with softball. 

I was one of only two freshmen to make the varsity team at Lake City High School (Idaho 6A) last year, starting at first base and batting fifth. My sophomore year, I was initially the second pitcher, behind the senior pitcher. I quickly earned the starting pitcher position based on my performance and reached one hundred strikeouts, in eighteen games. 

I am a leader on my travel team and have been since I started. I lead by example, but also by being positive and encouraging to my teammates. I typically lose my voice after a weekend tournament, cheering on my team. I am truly fortunate that my coaches have always taught us softball fundamentals, and we repeat them every single practice.  This allows me to make quick decisions during game situations, without overthinking things. 

I am a strong student-athlete, always balancing my academic workload with my athletic commitments. I am excited to continue my academic career, while at the same time fulfilling my dream of playing college softball.
