Background & Experience
Hi, I'm Madeline!
I live in Hillsboro, Oregon, where I was born and raised. Adventure, creativity, and human connection are the foundations of my work and play. I have a Master's of Education in Curriculum and Teaching, and several years of leadership in organizational development.
I've always been driven to create experiences for people. Scavenger hunts, elaborate event planning, and curriculum design were my hobbies as soon as I could read and write. My love for learning design was the early-life interest that nudged me to pursue a career in education. While those interests led me to classroom teaching, I quickly realized that I needed to make a career pivot. I've written an extensive reflection about the experience, if you're interested in the details.
My Teachers Pay Teachers store is home to some of my educator-facing lesson design, with resources for high school classrooms and adult education settings.
My core strength themes include my identities as a developer, learner, relator, and achiever, as well as my vision for connectedness.
These days...
I'm a program advisor to a local government Youth Advisory Council. Photography and graphic design fill much of my spare time. I'm continuing to hone my technical skills and instructional practices. I am thrilled to embed my passions — making things interesting, beautiful, and impactful — within my work.
