OPEN HOUSE EVENT

We held out first Open House event for 2012 on May 1st and in my opinion, it turned out to be damn well...! We had 5 guests in attendance which was very encouraging. The marketing of an event using emerging tools such as Twitter, LinkedIn, Blogs helped us invite newer people. At least 1 guest came after viewing my LinkedIn update! S. Loop Speakfreaks has shown some tremendous growth over the last few months which I attribute to the enthusiasm of some our new members. As in financial markets where liquidity attracts liquidity, people get motivated to participate after seeing others participating! While we have some strong and experienced leaders in our group, the participation shown by our newer members is very forthcoming and hopefully would help all of us become better leaders...aka...Toastmasters!

Also, I learned that Jimmy John's subs are the most cost effective and yet tasty option for such meetings! I compared various offers online and our beloved J.J. beat all other competitors. A 15-pack platter worth $27 (incl. taxes) is a good point to remember.

As a club member, I'm very excited to watch the club expand to 20 members and I hope that our Open House event was a step in the right direction. Looking forward to our next membership event this Fall. Until then, keep speaking!
