Freshman Year
Maintain my 4.00 GPA. I came into college with a 4.00 GPA from dual enrollment, and I believe that it is a possibility for me to keep it.
In May, I can confidently say that my 4.00 has remained safe for another semester!
Develop myself as an individual. Starting college has felt like a whirlwind, and I look forward to exploring new experiences and growing into myself as a person.
In May, I am happy to say that taking a chance on a college six hours away from home is the best decision I have ever made. I have found passions in public relations and photography all while learning about life. Academically, I have learned more than I thought I would in my first year. In my personal, I have seen how much I have matured over the past year, and I am incredibly proud of myself.
Sophomore Year
Become more settled in to my own major. This year, I am finally finished with my core major classes. As I take more major/concentration-specific electives, I look forward to getting to know my professors better and make more connections.
In April, I think it is safe to say that I have found a home in my own major. I love my concentration specific courses SO MUCH and I have connected well with a lot of my professors. A lot of really exciting opportunities are on the horizon at the moment!
Finish out my USP courses strong. I'm in the home stretch of my Scholars courses, it is my goal to make an A in every class.
In April, I am almost done with them! I will update in May once I have my final grades.
Focus on professional development. How will I use or apply the knowledge I am learning in my major-specific classes?
In April, I think I am doing a good job of this so far! I found out today that I am being interviewed for a "workship" that would allow me to apply the information I have been learning about. I also got a job that is directly in my field and I am currently gaining hands on experience in radio. Things are great!
