Healthcare and Nursing
At a point in my life when I was much younger, I had severe respiratory problems. I would end up spending a lot of time in hospitals, clinics, the ER, or just at home sick. I was always surrounded by nurses and doctors.
After looking at how I grew up and the environment I grew up in, I knew it was something that I could see myself doing as a profession. At first, I was always sick of the environment at the hospital or clinics and the people who worked there, but the older I got, the more I realized that these people are just here to help me get better. I ended up being very thankful for the doctors and nurses who not only helped me but also watched me grow into a healthy adult. They were nothing but kind and supportive, even when that was the last place I would have wanted to be.
I want to be able to help those who need medical help. My goal is to bring not only joy into people's lives who are stuck in a hospital setting, but also to help and nurse them back to health. From personal experience, I know how hard it can be to constantly be in a setting like this while trying to remain positive and thankful to those caring for you. In my career, I would try my best to keep a person joyous while also providing them with the care they need.
Coming from someone who grew up in a hospital setting, it has given me an outlook on the future degree I am working towards in nursing. I wish to be able to care for those in need while also giving them joy in such a setting, as I know how hard it is.
