Alongside my first grade team, I helped revise and build on previous lessons using the Learning in Places Frameworks. These frameworks integrate place-based learning, socio-ecological systems, ethical decision-making, culture, time scales, relationships, power, phenology, and collaboration to guide educators in outdoor education and support learners. I focused on highlighting how ethical deliberation and decision-making were woven into our curriculum. In addition to curriculum development, I facilitated classroom lessons, lead field trips to Mt. Pisgah Arboretum, and supported logistics for lessons, trips, and parent cafes that we hosted. The work accomplished during the program was made possible by our solid teamwork and I'm grateful for the opportunity.
