I had the opportunity to participate in the Environmental Leadership Program at the University of Oregon in 2025 as a Wild Wanderers team member. Wild Wanderers is a place-based program which provides environmental education to elementary students across Lane County, Oregon, sparking wonder and curiosity in the outdoors. Our project plants  seeds of stewardship and works to grow environmental awareness. A key goal was to get kids outside and help learners foster a personal connection with nature. The first grade team worked with three schools and seven classrooms, facilitating three in-class lessons and one field trip to Mt.Pisgah every week. First graders had the chance to learn about seasonal changes in the Oak Savanna.
