Maps shows you maps (duh). You can search for places, get air tours, see traffic conditions, and more.
To search for a place, type it's name or a generic word for it in the bar at the top (e.x. "CN Tower" or "aquarium"), and click the result you want. If you want more results or see everything on a map, press return
on the keyboard without clicking anything.
To browse around, you can click-and-drag, or slide two fingers around on the trackpad, like sliding a piece of paper on a desk. To zoom in and out pinch on the trackpad and move your two fingers closer or farther apart. This also works in Safari, Photos, Preview, Pages, Keynote, Numbers, and Mail, too!
Use the "Directions" button at the top left to get directions. Fill in the form, and press return
.
Use the "Show" button on the bottom left to see traffic or 3D views. Clogged roads will be shown in red, and slow roads in orange.
To see pictures from space, click "Satellite" on the top right. To see transit routes or to plan transit trips, click "Transit" on the top right. This is really handy, and is the best transit map I have ever seen, but it only works in some cities. Fortunately, it works in the GTA!
To get a tour, first go to a supported city, like Glasgow.
If it's there, click on the "Start" button at the bottom of the window. Otherwise, click the "x
" to clear out the search and remove all pins.
Then, click the "3D" badge next to the city.
Finally, click "Tour".
