The first mobility of our MACHIS Erasmus+ project was carried out in Bombarral, Portugal. On the first day, participants arrived and were welcomed by the host school.
The day focused on getting to know the host country and its rich cultural heritage. Students took part in a tour of cultural and historical places in Lisbon, where they had the opportunity to observe Portuguese history, architecture, and daily life closely.
This cultural visit helped participants build connections, develop intercultural awareness, and set a strong foundation for the activities planned during the project.
On the second day of the project, Participants visited the Erasmus+ Corner and attended presentation about Portuguese education system.we had also a school tour.The logo of the project was chosen by the students through a questionnaire
Later in the day, students revised the annual project plan, joined ice-breaker activities, and took part in interactive games such as guessing historical figures.
In the afternoon, participants learned about Portuguese history through engaging activities.The day ended with redesigning photos taken during the visit of Lisbon by using digital tools, combining history with creativity and technology
The third day of the project focused on cultural exploration, creativity, and interactive learning. Participants worked on Historical Diary Posters, reflecting historical events through visual design and storytelling.
They also visited historical places, observing significant landmarks and learning about their historical and cultural importance.
Within the scope of the mobility, students took part in a cultural trip to Porto, where they explored famous historical sites, architectural structures, and panoramic city views. This experience helped students understand Portuguese history and the connection between historical heritage and modern urban life.
Students were divided into international groups and participated in a treasure hunt activity. By following clues related to historical places and historical figures, they actively explored the city while developing teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Participants also created animated historical figures by using VOKI, integrating digital tools into history education. The day was completed with the “Letters Through Time” activity, which encouraged students to write from the perspective of people living in different historical periods, fostering empathy, creativity, and critical thinking.
The fourth and fifth days of the project were dedicated to interactive, student-centered activities. Participants created mystery stories and played games such as “Who am I?” and “Who said this?”, using quotations from famous historical figures.
Students also worked on monologues and role-plays, bringing historical characters to life through drama workshops. A special focus was given to expressing historical events through performance and storytelling.Also one of the most famous historical episode of Turkish history played by Portuguese students
Additionally, participants collaborated on creating timelines of historical events, strengthening their understanding of chronological order and cause-effect relationships.
The final day included a Kahoot quiz, evaluation activities, certificate ceremony, and a farewell party, marking the successful completion of the mobility and celebrating the friendships and learning experiences gained throughout the project.
