I have been a counselor for eight years and have counseled young children to older adults. I would describe my style of therapy as eclectic - meaning that I take different interventions or techniques from a variety of therapy modalities, whichever would best serve the individual client/presenting issue. However, most often, I use techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as Solution Focused Therapy. If you are not familiar with these two types of therapy, it means that I focus on changing maladaptive thoughts that result in maladaptive emotions and behaviors. I believe that we can change much in our lives by addressing our unhelpful or maladaptive thought processes. I also focus on what has worked for you in the past with similar issues (solutions) and help guide you to finding a solution for the current presenting issue. My philosophy is that I should “work myself out of a job,” giving you the tools and techniques needed to address all of life’s concerns as you move forward! 

I am a licensed professional counselor in the states of Georgia and Michigan, a national certified counselor in all 50 states, and a certified school counselor in the states of Georgia and Michigan. I approach therapy and healing from a holistic standpoint and seek to find lasting solutions. With this framework in mind, I have been trained in trauma informed yoga. I would categorize myself as a lifelong learner and continue to learn more about the styles of therapy mentioned above as well as those being described in the current literature.

I will be pursuing licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Tennessee as well as a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor certification in Georgia beginning summer 2025.
