Purpose.
The purpose of this study is to dive deeper into social and economic experiences of inclusion and/or exclusion uncovered from the findings of Study 1 using both qualitative and quantitative closed (scale-based questions) and open-ended questions (where participants can provide written feedback).
Procedures. In short.
Using a survey template designed and tested through Dr. Long's recent work in Ontario (see Ertorer et al., 2015), the research team will disseminate an online survey about racialized experiences of employment and service provision through the City of Edmonton's Community Social Workers. This survey tool will reach a greater number of Edmonton residents than other Study 2 methods and provide data for comparison (to provincial and federal data).
A total of 400 Edmonton residents are sought to participate in the online survey. The research team will collect the data and analyze it through online software analysis platforms. Together, the research team will analyse the data using open coding and grounded theory (Bryant, 2014).
Online survey participants will receive a $20 gift certificate for their participation.
