Our chapter invites pharmacists to speak at our continuing education (CE) events. As a regional chapter seeking to advance clinical pharmacy practice, we strive to create CE experiences that:
Address evolving areas of clinical pharmacy practice
Engage a small group live audience and emphasizes collaborative idea sharing over content delivery as a sole focus
Delivered by pharmacists with real-world expertise in the area
For CE events, we are required to submit planning documents to our ACPE provider well in advance of an event. Interested speakers should consider the following timeline:
5 months in advance - express interest and select a topic
4 months in advance - draft knowledge gaps, learning objectives, biography, and basic program information
3 months in advance - finalize event documents, financial relationship disclosure forms, and event date/time
2 months in advance - letter of agreement signed
40 days in advance - final CE slides with assessment questions and CV submitted
While some preference may be given to current MACCP (or ACCP) members, speakers do not have to be current MACCP members.
ANY topic relevant to clinical pharmacists will be considered. In order for members to meet licensure requirements, we also seek speakers who are interested in addressing:
Patient safety
Pain management, the identification of addiction, and/or the practices of prescribing or dispensing of opioids
Any component regarding the treatment and management of pain, including the prescribing, distribution and use of opioid medications
And/or the risks, symptoms, and treatment of opioid misuse/addiction
Immunizations
Pharmacy law

Have someone in mind? Perhaps a pharmacist delivering a new service, providing pharmacy services in an evolving area, or is a natural speaker? Share this page with them. Share their contact information with us and we'll send an invitation.
