Keynote Speech

Welcome to M3IP 2023

First International Workshop on Multi-Modal Medical Imaging Processing (M3IP 2023)

In conjunction with ICIAP 2023

Udine September 11-15, 2023

Dr George Amarantidis

Dr George Amarantidis received his PhD in Control Systems from the School of Engineering at the University of Birmingham and an MEng in electrical and electronic engineering from Loughborough University. His research interests include medical imaging, signal processing, control systems, system identification, predictive maintenance, and AI for time-series analysis. He joined MathWorks in 2021, where he works as a technical specialist in education. He actively collaborates with universities in research, teaching and outreach activities. Before joining MathWorks, he developed algorithms and designed software for touch sensors and medical devices.

Abstract:

Medical imaging often relies on multimodal approaches to synthesize complementary information. This can present unique challenges in registration and resampling to account for different image spaces and voxel sizes, respectively. In this talk, we will review image registration and processing for multimodal analysis but will also point to new tools for multimodal analysis, including deep learning for autosegmentation and computer aided diagnosis, reviewing the end-to-end process, including image import, visualization, labelling, training, and inference. We will also discuss the importance and application of radiomics approaches.
