I am currently a postdoctoral fellow at the School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences of Clemson University. I am working on the development of different numerical methods, such as finite volume and finite element methods, turbulence modeling, and reduced order modeling for different fluid dynamic problems (blood flows, fluid-structure interaction, ocean flows, and atmospheric flows).
Before this, I was at the Department of Mathematics of the University of Houston working under the supervision of Prof. Annalisa Quaini where I worked on the development of filtering stabilization strategies and data-driven reduced order models for stratified oceans modeled by the two-layer quasi-geostrophic equations.
Lastly, I spent my undergraduate years at the Institute of Mathematics Sciences and Physics (now called Institute of Mathematical Sciences) of the University of the Philippines and worked on developing cellular automaton algorithms for two-dimensional particle transport under the supervision of Prof. Editha Jose and Prof. Alvin Karlo Tapia.
Outside of academia, I am a fan of cycling and reading. Let me know of any good nonfiction or scifi books!
