Welcome to my page!
I am currently a Lecturer at the Faculty of Water Resources Engineering, Thuyloi University, Vietnam, and a Visiting Associate Professor at the Real-time Flood Prediction R&D Unit, Research and Development Initiative, Chuo University, Japan.
I previously served as an Institute Associate Professor at Chuo University from June 2024 to March 2026.
My research focuses on hydrology and water resource management, with an emphasis on developing reliable and transferable approaches for flood monitoring and forecasting. I work at the interface of physical modeling and data-driven methods, integrating hydrological and hydraulic models with advanced machine learning and deep learning techniques.
My work particularly targets hybrid AI–physics frameworks for real-time and operational flood prediction, combining multi-source data (satellite, radar, and gauge) with hydrological models. This includes satellite-based flood mapping using Sentinel-1/2, DEM-based floodwater depth estimation, and multi-event calibration strategies.
In addition, I develop deep learning approaches for precipitation bias correction and data fusion to improve rainfall inputs for hydrological simulations, especially in data-scarce regions. My research emphasizes uncertainty-aware modeling and the design of generalizable frameworks that can be transferred across basins and urban flood-prone areas.
Rather than focusing on specific algorithms, my work employs a broad spectrum of machine learning and deep learning approaches, tailored to hydrological, hydraulic, and environmental systems, with the goal of extracting robust and physically consistent information from heterogeneous datasets.
I am also interested in landslide susceptibility and early warning under extreme weather conditions through the integration of remote sensing and AI-based methods.
Prior to this, I worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Disaster Prevention Emergency Management Institute, Kyungpook National University, South Korea (2020–2024), and as a Lecturer at Thuyloi University, Vietnam.
Please explore my page for more information on my research projects, publications, and professional activities. I welcome opportunities for collaboration toward sustainable and resilient water resource management.
